Our objective for the Gazprom Oil Refining Complex was to coordinate the compilation, technical review, and individual issuance of Manufacturer Data Books (MDBs). We worked closely with engineering, quality, procurement, and suppliers to establish clear documentation requirements and review processes. Early engagement with stakeholders helped align expectations, resolve discrepancies, and keep each MDB on track for approval and issuance.
THE CHALLENGE
The compilation, technical review, and individual issuance of Manufacturer Data Books (MDBs) for the Gazprom Oil Refining Complex presented substantial coordination and document control challenges. Each book had to bring together records from multiple manufacturers and disciplines while preserving the traceability of equipment, materials, inspections, tests, and approvals. Differences in supplier document formats, revision histories, and submission schedules made it difficult to maintain a complete and consistent record. At the same time, technical comments had to be resolved across engineering, quality, and project teams without allowing changes to one document to create discrepancies elsewhere in the book. These interdependencies placed significant pressure on review timelines: a late certificate, unresolved comment, or incorrect revision could delay the issuance of an individual MDB. Managing those risks required rigorous document tracking, clear ownership of outstanding items, and careful verification before each book was released.

OUR APPROACH
Our approach combined disciplined document control with a coordinated technical review process for the compilation and individual issuance of Manufacturer Data Books (MDBs) for the Gazprom Oil Refining Complex.
